Seminar Scope: Importance, Topics, Challenges and Expected Outcomes


    Chemical dynamics describes the dynamics of small molecules and macromolecules and the underlying principles for fields such as spectroscopy, reaction kinetics, and molecular interactions in the gas, liquid or solid phase. The dynamics of processes at the molecular level cover the hottest topics of current science in a range of scales and applications. Processes addressed have a huge spectrum from industrial catalysis to mysteries of atmospheric processes to mechanisms of disease.
    The seminar will focus on the transformative role that theory plays in modern research by making bold predictions, guiding the design of new experiments, and enabling insightful interpretations of experimental observations. The symposium will cover the theories and computational approaches bridging experimental observations with the underlying interactions between atoms and molecules. The topics will cover experimental and theoretical physical chemistry and biophysics, including atmospheric processes, novel rare gas containing compounds, novel spectroscopic approaches, and studies of physical effects that impact folding, binding and function of biological macromolecules.
